EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Football with the Barons

Football is a very formative sport that teaches young people that everyone has their role and that everyone must do their part in order to achieve their goals.

Community football with the St-Bruno Barons (ages 6 to 17)

Community football is much more than a sport — it is a true school of life for youth aged 6 to 17. At the St-Bruno Barons, we welcome ALL young athletes, girls and boys alike, in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment where everyone can learn, grow, and thrive at their own pace.

Our teams are co-ed, and girls are always welcome. Football teaches essential values such as teamwork, respect, discipline, and perseverance. Every player learns that each person has an important role to play, and that common goals are achieved when everyone works together.

Adapted to each age group, community football helps develop motor skills, self-confidence, and sportsmanship, while encouraging the joy of staying active and pushing personal limits. Whether it’s a first sports experience or an opportunity to refine skills, the St-Bruno Barons support youth both on and off the field.

Parental involvement: a team spirit that goes beyond the field

At the St-Bruno Barons, football is a collective adventure. Unlike many other sports, parent involvement is an integral part of the experience. Your participation directly contributes to creating a dynamic, safe, and enjoyable environment for all our young athletes.

Rest assured — you don’t need to be a football expert! Each role is simple, clearly explained, and fully supported by our team. Together, we make sure every game is a success.

Volunteer Roles During Games

Parents may be asked to help in one of the following roles:

  • Scorekeeper (scoreboard table)

  • Timekeeper

  • Down marker operator

  • BBQ and/or Canteen assistant

  • Jersey washing

  • Chain crew

This involvement fosters a strong sense of belonging, strengthens connections between families, and allows young players to see firsthand the importance of teamwork and community engagement.

At the Barons, every parent is part of the team — and together, we create a memorable season!

How to register

Registration takes place on this website using an online form. If you are unable to use this system, please contact one of our volunteers at info@baronsfootball.org for assistance.

After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application. (Please check your spam or junk folder if you do not see it.)

Once your registration has been processed, your team manager will communicate practice and activity details, as well as the link to your team’s Facebook group, if applicable.

This process may take some time, but rest assured that you will receive communication from the team manager before practices begin. If you have not received anything by April 25, please contact us.

Fundraising and your participation

Fundraising and the support of our sponsors play an essential role in enabling the Barons football club to continue to offer families in the region affordable registration fees, while ensuring the purchase, maintenance and renewal of equipment essential for the safe practice of football.

Certain personal equipment must be replaced regularly to comply with safety standards and ensure player protection, including:

• Helmets: cost ranging from $700 to $1,000, with a maximum lifespan of approximately 10 years

• Shoulder pads: cost between $100 and $250, depending on the model and size

• Match jerseys: approximately $100 per player, periodically renewed depending on wear and tear

The participation of players and their families is therefore essential to the success of these initiatives. Together, we contribute directly to maintaining a safe, accessible, and high-quality environment for all the young people in the association.

Upon registration, $50 is automatically added to the registration fee to support fundraising efforts. In addition, other fundraising activities will be organized throughout the season, giving everyone the opportunity to get more involved.

Thank you for your collaboration and commitment to our sports community.

Categories

🏈 Atom

Approximate age: 6 to 8 years old

The Atom level focuses primarily on introducing players to safe flag football and the joy of playing. They learn the basic techniques of the sport: positions, fundamental rules, and blocking techniques. At this level, there is no tackling. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork, discipline, and respect within a structured and supervised environment. Motor development and confidence building in young athletes are paramount.

🏈 AAA Mosquito

Approximate age: 9–10 years

The Mosquito level represents a stage of consolidating learning. Players refine their individual techniques and begin to better understand offensive and defensive team concepts. The game becomes more structured, while maintaining an approach focused on the overall development of the athlete. Effort, perseverance, and attitude play an increasingly important role.

🏈 Pee-Wee AAA

Approximate age: 11–12 years

At the Pee-Wee level, football takes on a more competitive dimension. Players develop a better tactical understanding of the game and must apply more complex offensive and defensive systems. Physical conditioning, individual responsibility, and teamwork become essential. This level serves as a transition between recreational football and competitive football.

🏈 Bantam AAA

Approximate age: 13 to 14 years old

The Bantam level is geared towards performance and preparation for advanced football. Athletes are expected to master their position, execute with precision, and maintain a high intensity. Rigor, commitment, and discipline are key elements. Physical, mental, and strategic development is prioritized to prepare players for the Midget category and, eventually, college football.

🏈 Midget AAA

Approximate age: 15 to 17 years old

Midget football is the highest level in minor league football. It aims for athletic excellence and prepares players for college and university. Players develop in a highly structured environment where performance, consistency, and maturity are essential. Physical and mental demands are high, and athletes must demonstrate leadership, autonomy, and discipline, both on and off the field.

Online registration is mandatory for all players, and full payment must be made at the time of registration, either by credit card or via the Mon Club Sportif platform.

All payments, including the $50 deposit added to the final total, must be settled before the equipment is handed over.

Note: If you are unable to pay by credit card, please contact us at info@baronsfootball.org to arrange an alternative payment method.
